Fiona- AT RISK FOR EUTHANASIA
Meet English Bulldog Fiona; and as the name suggests, she is an ogre princess at heart. She spends most of her days snoring, snorting or snuggling. She likes short to medium walks and one look at a leash will have her bouncing to the nearest door. She loves people and children! She would be best in an only dog home. She has been a joy for our family over the past couple years. She does not get along with her bully breed sister and it has turned into an unsafe environment. She is 6 years old approximately 60 lbs. She has responded extremely well to training and has been working with a Bully Breed specialized trainer who has offered to continue to work with her as needed. She needs to be your one and only pet.

891 East Road
Stephenville, TX 76401
DESKLINE: 254-965-3247
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Desmond came to the shelter as a stray and has been here for several months which is a long time to be primarily in a kennel and it's taking its toll on him. He needs a family to give him time to decompress and love him for the wonderful dog he can be.
He knows basic commands, is house and crate trained. That being said he would benefit from additional fear-free training which is a wonderful bonding experience for you and your new canine companion.
Desmond loves to play fetch, loves car rides and walks wonderfully on leash with younger children and adults. He loves treats and loves to snuggle.
As for kitties – he just doesn't understand them and wants to chase them. With proper instruction and introduction he might be able to live with them. We are not sure how he would be living with another dog.

Meet Cherry! She is ready to find a loving and dedicated home. Cherry needs a home with no other pets as she likes to be the center of attention. Cherry LOVES her people and enjoys meeting new human friends. Her go to move is to fold herself over, flop onto her back, and present her belly for scratches. Cherry is good in the house and can easily be left alone to lounge on the couch or her dog bed while her humans are away. She loves having a secure fenced yard so she can have zoomies and playtime without the risk of having to deal with other dogs bothering her. Ozzy
OZZY IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Ozzy loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. He would be on the couch or bed all day if allowed. He does have a fun energetic side to him, and enjoys playing tug and long walks through the neighborhood. Ozzy has gotten along with other dogs in his foster house, but does better when introduced in a calm way. He will likely be better as an only dog since he does have some resource guarding tendencies. No cats, and older children would be best. He has the potential to be reactive on walks, but when handled properly he is very manageable. He knows “Sit” “Down” “Place or Bed” “Come” “Stay” and how to walk on a loose leash. He is crated trained, although he will begin to whine occasionally if allowed to sleep in his humans bed and not the crate regularly. Ozzy did go through a 4 week board & train program with a local trainer, to learn better obedience, manners and leash skills.
Please contact Tessa of Balanced Behaviors Dog Training at (208)497-3288 in Boise, Idaho www.balancedbehaviors.com

Santa Fe, NM 87507
newhope@sfhumanesociety.org
DESKLINE: 505-983-4309 x1270
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Sheri Moon first arrived to our shelter as a stray in April of this year. Lost and confused, she has never given up the hope for a new life. Sheri Moon is a sweet 3-year-old mixed-breed who weighs around 61 pounds.
Sheri Moon is slowly discovering what a true treasure she can be and has quickly become a shelter favorite. She can be quite reserved when first meeting her but she gradually opens up once she knows she can trust you. Who knows what she's been through? Once she does trust you BANG you hit the jackpot!! Want a walking or hiking partner? Sheri Moon would love to join you. Want a couch buddy to binge watch TV with? Guess What? Sheri moon is your gal. Want to go to the coffee shop? Sheri Moon
would enjoy tagging along. In other words, she loves spending time with her humans.
She has learned some commands such as “paw, sit and down” and is leash trained. Additional fear-free training would definitely be beneficial to reinforce what she already knows plus teach her some new tricks and be a great bonding experience with her new family. It is unknown if she is crate trained or good with cats or kids. Come to the shelter and meet Sheri Moon. She's been here far too long and really deserves a family of her own.

Luna 1-AT RISK FOR EUTHANASIA

LUNA IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION/RESCUE! URGENT!!
CONTACT: Hurricane Animal Shelter
2084 S 700 W
Hurricane, UT
rblackman@hcpd.utah.gov
DESKLINE: 435-635-8314
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Luna is running out of time!
Luna was an owner surrender whose circumstances changed and could no longer care for her. She has been in the shelter for over 2 months and is becoming very kennel stressed. Whereas she is awesome around kids she is not dog/cat friendly. She would need to be your only pet. Dogs that need to be an only pet seem more difficult to adopt out. She is fine on leash but tends to get defensive when off leash. Doggy play groups and dog parks would not be Luna's thing. Again, she absolutely loves people and kids!
Luna is a young girl with a zest for life and just needs a chance to find the right family. She is one of the sweetest dogs shelter staff have met. She appears to be house-trained as there have been no accidents in her kennel in between outings. She does not appear to have received any training and would greatly benefit from a fear-free training round of classes. She is smart and eager to learn!
Please come down to the shelter and meet Luna....If she is set up for success (time to decompress, training and no other pets) your family will have a great canine companion.

CONTACT: PAWS of Grays Harbor

Aberdeen, WA 98520

DESKLINE: 360-533-1141
SIR CHESTER DOMINO III IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Sir Chester Domino III came to the shelter as a stray so his story is unknown. What we have discovered about him so far is he LOVES to play! Besides wrestling with a larger canine companion he LOVES to
play tug-of-war and run around like a crazy-pants!
This boy loves everyone he meets and gives kisses to prove it! He would love a home where he had plenty of room to run around and get all of his zoomies out. Oh – plenty of toys are a must, too! Sir Chester Domino III would definitely benefit from fear-training classes as his manners could use a little refreshing. Attending these classes with your new canine family member is a great way to bond as well. He has been in the shelter for awhile so will need a family that will give him the time he needs to
decompress and feel comfortable.
Although he shows interest in small dogs, cats, small animals and children his high energy requires a
home with only large dogs and older children to keep him from accidentally playing too rough. The goal is to set him up for success and not put him in a situation where we already observed will not work
for him.

MEET HARLEY!
HARLEY IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
CONTACT: Berkeley Animal Care Services
1 Bolivar Drive
Berkeley, CA
afunghi@cityofberkeley.info
DESKLINE: 510-981-6600
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Harley came to the shelter as a stray so not much is known about her past. Since she's been at the shelter she has played successfully with other dogs but needs to be well-matched because she is a strong and energetic player.
She enjoys pets, attention, fetch and treats....lots of treats! Being treat motivated means she will learn new tricks and training more easily. A round of fear-free training is recommended to reinforce the basic commands she knows already and teach her new tricks/commands. It's a great way for her and her new family to bond, too! Harley is learning leash skills – like not pulling. Again, being treat motivated she's picking the not pulling on leash quickly.
In order for Harley to succeed in her new home it is recommended she be an only dog. She is fine early on with another dog but becomes reactive after a little while. She does pretty well passing other dogs on walks but again, she is dog selective. Come down to the shelter and meet Harley – we're pretty sure you'll fall in love. Please contact the shelter above if you are interested in Harley.

Shenzi
SHENZI IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
CONTACT: Santa Fe Animal Shelter
100 Caja del Rio Rd.
Santa Fe, NM 87507
newhope@sfhumanesociety.org
DESKLINE: 505-983-4309 x1270
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Shenzi is a 2 year old boy that has spent way too much time in the shelter! He was returned after being adopted because the adopter said “ he was too much dog for her.” Shenzi is full of energy and needs to be exercised regularly so an active family would be great for him....he'd fit right in!
Shenzi knows basic commands and is house-trained and leash trained. He would benefit from
additional fear-free training to reinforce what he already knows and perhaps pick up some new tricks. Was it mentioned how smart he is? He would excel in agility training! Take a look at his videos and you'll see what we are talking about.
Looking for a hiking partner? That's right up Shenzi's alley! Want a buddy to sunbathe by the pool with you this summer? Shenzi is your guy! An ideal home for him would have some land or large fenced yard for him to run and protect. Shenzi gets excited when the leash is brought out because he knows something fun is about to happen. When he gets outside he relaxes and truly enjoys his daily exercise.
Oh – if you have belly rubs to give Shenzi is your boy! If you already have a canine family member please bring him/her for a meet n' greet!
Shenzi is a pretty great dog and would excel – given time to decompress – in a loving home where he
can be inside and spend time with his new, loving family.
Please contact the shelter above if you are interested in Shenzi.

PERSONALITY TRAITS
Rocko came to the shelter as a stray so his story is unknown. What we do know is he loves people and has become a staff favorite when it's playtime. He knows some basic commands such as “sit” “paw” “easy” (leash training), and “calm down” when he gets overly excited.
He's a couch potato who loves to pick out his favorite toys – he loves them so much he's not too good at sharing them. He has become the resident toy tester!
He can be dog selective but when he finds a new friend they become quite the buddies. Rocko is big and buff and does much better in a harness rather than a collar when walking. He has done well in off leash playgroups with other dogs.
Rocko is house-trained, leash-trained and knows some commands (see above). He can get overly excited but if you ask him to “calm down” or “sit” he listens. A round of fear-free training classes would be beneficial for Rocko as well as being a great way to bond with your new canine family member.
If you are interested in Rocko and already have a canine housemate, please bring them with you to the shelter for a meet n' greet. Be prepared to fall in love!

PERSONALITY TRAITS
Hogan came into the shelter as a stray after being found tied to a bench outside of an office. He had a terrible ear infection that was immediately treated and he's feeling much better now!
Hogan has been at the shelter far too long and he's becoming very frustrated. Staff have been taking him on outings that he enjoys immensely. He would make an excellent hiking/adventure partner as he has a lot of energy! He knows some basic commands but would definitely benefit from a round of fear-free training. Hogan has a rougher play style and will jump up out of excitement when first meeting people. With verbal correction and turning body away, he does stop and the behavior is easily corrected.
He has shown some reactivity towards some dogs although he did well on a walk with a female dog. Hogan would be best as an only pet. But what a wonderful canine companion he could be given time to decompress and receive fear-free training. He's very treat motivated which always makes it easier to train.
Please take a few minutes and view Hogan's videos. Perhaps consider coming to the shelter and meet Hogan. We can't promise you won't fall in love....Oh! Did we mention he's bi-lingual? Entiendo español!

PERSONALITY TRAITS
Chloe came to the shelter as a stray so we don't know her story. However, based on certain reactions from her since being at the shelter is very leery of men. We can pretty much guess why. She is great with female staff members.
Chloe knows “sit” and “shake” but otherwise has no manners. She is not leash trained and pulls while walking on leash. She would definitely benefit from fear-free training classes. She has been non-reactive when passing by other dogs so she possibly would be able to live with another dog in the home. If you already have a dog and are interested in Chloe please bring them with you to the shelter for a proper meet n' greet.
It sounds like Chloe would be a lot to take on but given time to decompress and know that she's safe coupled with fear-free training she truly is a diamond in the ruff. You wouldn't regret putting in the time she needs to be the perfect canine companion.

Sapphire- AT RISK FOR EUTHANASIA

CONTACT: OC Animal Care
1630 Victory Road
Tustin, CA 92872
tammy.osborn@occr.ocgov.com
DESKLINE: (714)935-6848
PERSONALITY TRAITS
Sapphire came to the shelter as a stray so we can only guess on what her life was like before. She was very shy and skittish and based on her behavior thus far it's safe to say she's not had it easy.
Week 1: She did not want to walk on the leash, would stop when walking, run forward or just refuse to walk. In the yard Sapphire was scared and did not want to interact with staff or take treats - she would walk away or move to the corner and lay down and give you a direct stare. Staff have been diligently working with her to help her settle in and let people get close.
Week 2: Sapphire was up at her kennel wanting pets. In the yard she wanted to be near staff and would jump up on staff to get pets and attention. Progress! She has no manners and definitely would benefit from a round of fear-free training classes. As mentioned above she did not have an easy life...
A few days later Sapphire was friendly when approached in the morning, allowed staff to pet her through the cage, displayed play bows and playful personality. Another example of progress being made with kindness and patience. Baby steps!
Week 3: Sapphire is still very scared in the kennel. When staff approached she had a wagging tail – a good thing! She was skittish when walking out of her kennel to the yard but once in the yard she was very sweet and submissive. There were no issues petting her – tail wagging all of the time. She was more calm and very sweet. She was non-reactive to the dogs we passed to/from her kennel.
What Sapphire needs is a family that will be willing to work with her and let her come around at her own speed. A speculative guess would be (prior to coming to the shelter) she was kept outside, not socialized at all and had to fend for herself. Fear-free training classes are strongly recommended. As you will see in the video with staff she is loves attention and loves to be pet.
She is dog friendly and a well socialized in the home would most likely help her settle in. If you thing Sapphire would fit into your family and you have a canine buddy please bring them with you for a meet n' greet! Please take the time to look at her videos.

PERSONALITY TRAITS
This is a very sad story and Maximus needs someone special that would be willing to give him the time he needs to become a dog! At only 2 years old, this poor baby has no idea how to be a dog! He was taught only to be a guard dog and has known nothing else. No love, no safety or security, no training or socialization. Maximus was found in a tent contained in a crate where he had no water. He was defensive and combative, as that is what he knew.
When he first arrived at the shelter, he wanted nothing to do with us in his space. We showed him that we were not there to hurt him and he slowly opened up.With some yummy treats and some sweet baby talk, he began to trust, little by little. He started to let his guard down and he is learning how to love. When the AC officer came in that had saved him from the tent, he immediately recognized her and his tail started wagging away. He ran up to her and gave her all the loving, saying thank you for giving him a new lease on life. It is clear he is grateful and it is also super sad that his best days have been here at the over-crowded, loud, chaotic shelter.
Maximus is having a hard time adjusting to the loud kennels and is super stressed here. He is chasing his tail and self-harming in kennel. This boy needs a hero to just show him how to be a dog and what love feels like and to continue building his confidence and socialize him in a positive light. He is smart and sweet, he just needs a little time and a lot of love.
He is nervous with dogs and shows his teeth, asking for space if they get too close but never acting on it. He just wants to be left alone at this point. We are assuming this young man's life has involved lots of being tied up and dealing with chaos and a lot of hitting. He needs someone that will continue to work on his rehab and show him that human hands mean treats and love, not pain and confusion. He just wants to know he is safe and won't be harmed with people and then he will bey our new best friend.
Maximus is the epitome of a dog that needs and deserves a second chance. It would be amazing to see him finally feel safe, open up and feel comfortable enough to show us what an awesome boy he really is!
Maximus needs a very special person/family that would be willing to give him the time he needs. He is running out of time at the shelter and if that special person out there is you, please step up fast - he's running out of time!

PERSONALITY TRAITS
Nelson was picked up by animal control after spending the weekend on an adventure in a subdivision in town. He met several groups of people while out and about. His sweet smile was posted several times in our local lost/found Facebook groups, but no one was able to secure him and keep him safe. After a couple of days out in the 100+ degree weather, he walked up to a nice family who was outside washing their cars. This family gave him water and lots of loves until animal control was able to pick him up the next day.
Nelson is showing signs of kennel stress. The Tulare Animal Shelter is very full and severely understaffed. Nelson and his friends aren't able to make it outside to play daily and it's starting to stress him out. Of course, a dog cannot put his best paw forward when it's stressed out and therefore potential adopters pass him by. Once Nelson is outside, he is very happy and wants to be around his people. He has done well with other dogs he has met while in the care of the shelter. He made fast friends with a young, playful, shepherd pup. Shelter staff believe Nelson would do well as a family dog and hope he has that chance soon.
Nelson knows basic commands, leash trained, is good with other dogs, good off leash and other dogs in play groups. He's done will with dogs of all ages including a very playful, young pup.
Are you interested in meeting Nelson? Already have a canine family member? Well, c'mon down to the shelter and bring them with you for a proper meet n' greet!

JUNEBUG IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
CONTACT: Dallas Animal Services
1818 North Westmoreland Dr
Dallas, Texas 75212
erika.bennett@dallas.gov
DESKLINE: 469-858-5698
PERSONALITY TRAITS
Junebug entered the shelter system when her owner passed away and no one in the family claimed her. Junebug has not had an easy life which was apparent by her condition when she came in – she was severely underweight with poor skin and was very shy. Since being in foster she has begun to flourish into a loving, healthy dog. Junebug desparately wants to find a home of her own with a yard and a family that will love and take care of her.
Junebug loves to snuggle, take long walks, snooze on her bed and play in the backyard. She has a rough and rowdy play style, but honors her foster sister pup who prefers a dainty play. Junebug currently lives with two dogs and does well with one of them. If you are interested in adopting Junebug please keep in mind she is dog selective. If you already have a canine family member please bring them with you for a proper meet n' greet.
Her world, such as it was, has been turned upside down and so it's understandable she suffers from anxiety which is especially noticeable when she's left in her crate. She sleeps in her crate with no issues at all. Most likely, given time with a loving, kind, stable family this can be overcome. Everyone like so to feel secure!
She is a recent graduate of a virtual pup training school. She quickly picks up commands like sit, down, touch, heel, and spot. She is extremely treat motivated and eager to please.
Interested in Junebug? Are you willing to give her the time she needs to feel secure and loved? If so, come down to the shelter and meet her. Be prepared to have your heart melt...she's pretty darn lovable!

PERSONALITY TRAITS
Braydon found his way to the shelter as a stray so his story in unknown. What we do know is Braydon is extremely sweet and affectionate.
Braydon is a big baby – by that we mean he absolutely loves affection and will give everybody puppy- dog eyes until they come to his cage to pet him. He is easy going, patient and fairly calm. He loves to
give hugs! Braydon could live in a home with dogs and small pets such as dog-friendly cats and other small animals. He would be fine living with respectful children. He know basic commands such as “sit” and “stay.” He would benefit from additional fear-free training
which is also a great way for a family to bond with their new canine family member. This boy is pretty much good to go and we do not understand why he hasn't been snatched up yet. If you are interested in Braydon and already have a canine family member please bring the with you to the shelter for a proper meet n' greet.
