Lobo- URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED!
Lobo is available for adoption!
Volunteer Jada writes-
Meet Lobo! At first glance, Lobo might seem a little reserved, but give him a moment and you’ll see what a lovebug he truly is. Once he opens up, his personality shines, he’s full of affection and loves to stay close for pets and cuddles.
Lobo is a smart cookie, he’s very food motivated and already knows how to sit and quickly learned to stay while I stepped back for some photos! He may not have had much formal training yet, but he’s clearly eager to learn and catches on fast.
Unfortunately Lobo has recently been diagnosed with a torn cruciate. The area of the injury is his knee. CBLO surgery is recommended. The rescue will provide the surgery for an adopter once Lobo is settled into his new home and comfy.
He will need an adopter(s) willing to
help him recover at home.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll blossom into your best friend with a little patience and structure, Lobo is your guy!

Linebacker - NEW PAWS STUDENT!

Meet Linebacker! This big boy was definitely built for the pros. While football may be his namesake, his head is practically the size of a basketball! This guy doesnt care what sport it is, as long as a ball is involved. He quickly learned where we store toys, right as we got to the yard he went straight to them, ready to play.
Linebacker is also very food motivated and knows some basic commands. He was so patient with me and sat like a gentleman and waited as I snapped his photos. He is very smart and took direction so well.
Linebacker is such a sweet boy and is truly a gentle giant. He loves to stay close, lean into you with his whole body and will try to fit his whole body in your lap if you allow it.
This hunk is such a catch, he's got the good looks, the brains and such a gentle disposition. He wont be with us for long, so get those applications in quick!
BBBR Manager and Trainer David shared-
"Linebacker is a big, lovable goof who's really just a giant baby at heart. He loves playing fetch and recently discovered how fun the garden hose is. He soaks up affection any chance he can get. Linebacker enjoys getting out on walks and exploring the world around him."
Linebacker is a very big guy, weighing in at close to 100lbs and would benefit gaining a few more pounds. For these reasons we are recommending a home with older children, as he may knock over children who are under the age of 6, unintentionally.
The shelter reported that Linebacker loves toys and playing with other dogs, particularly pushy females.

Rudy

BBBR volunteer Jada reports- Say it with me Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! This handsome guy is more than his good looks, he is very lovable, affectionate and playful. Rudy eagerly greeted me at his kennel door, he was loose bodied and excited but did not jump. He excitedly helped me choose a toy to play with in the yard and was ready to get right to it once we made it outside.
Rudy absolutely loved playing with the toy. He happily pranced and trotted around showing it off. He briefly played with it independently but the majority of the time wanted to me to engage and join in the play with him. Despite being an older gentleman, he certainly does not let that slow him down. This guy has such a fun and playful spunkiness. While there was no aggression at all around his toys, and he invites you to play with him, he does lack a bit of impulse control and will try to grab at the toy impatiently. Until he learns some boundaries I would not recommend Rudy for a home with young kids. Rudy is also very food motivated and will drop whatever he is doing for a treat. Food is a great motivator for him and will help when building a training foundation with him. He knows how to sit already and shows a desire to learn.
Rudy is very affectionate and people oriented. He loved being close the entire time we spent together and would lean in for pets. Rudy is such a sweet boy and will make such a great addition!
PERSONALITY TRAITS: While Rudy can be very independent he is also very affectionate, lovable and a cuddle bug. He’s a warm hearted guy that likes to have fun and share his toys. What a freaking sweetheart!
Rudy is a gentle easy going guy that would love to live with another dog with his energy. He would do best with respectful children 12+. Rudy knows “sit” and he’s working on “come” and “stay”.

When you first meet him, don’t expect instant cuddles — this guy has places to be and mysteries to solve! The moment he’s out of his kennel it’s 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐! Nose down, tail up, sniffing every corner like a detective on a mission. “What’s that? And that?” The world is just too interesting to sit still. But bring out the treats and oh boy… you’ve got his whole heart. His eyes light up like he just struck gold. He’ll follow you anywhere, do almost anything, and once you have his attention, he melts into 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. Toys are where Rudy really shows his soft side. Toss him a ball with a rope and suddenly this busy explorer turns into a total cuddle bug. He doesn’t just want to fetch — he wants to share. He’ll place it right in your lap like, “Come on… let’s play together.” Because to Rudy, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. In playgroups he’s enthusiastic and bouncy, sometimes a little too forward, (He can get over stimulated and try to mount his doggie companions) but he listens to corrections from his handlers and is happily hangs out with gentle, easy-going dog friends. Big Boy in a little body! Big Boy just got back from PAWS and has really come out of his shell. He is still timid in new situations but he recovers must better and has so much more confidence in opening up. When he first arrived at the facility he kept his distance in the yard until after a couple times meeting someone new and even then was very jumpy and startled easily. Once he started to open up, he showed his loving and playful side. Since returning from PAWS, with the confidence he built, that goofy side doesn't take long to emerge.
Big Boy is very food motivated which really helped in building an initial bond and some trust with him. He was more than willing to show me all he learned and seemed less anxious when focusing on training. This boy has such a soft, sweet demeanor. He loves to stay close to those he trusts and give all the loves.
I am so proud of the change I have seen in him and know his confidence will only continue to grow once he has found his forever home!

Meet Baby! This little firecracker is full of spunk and ready to dish out kisses. She is a very affectionate girl and has a smile that’s a mile wide.
Baby has a lot of energy packed into her compact body. She wasn’t very interested in toys at the time but that may change as she settles in with us. This was her first time in the large play yard and everything else was just more exciting. The one thing that did catch her interest was treats. Baby is very treat motivated and super smart!
Without a doubt this meatball has such a desire to learn and work. She knows how to sit, was easily lured into a down and confidently waited to be released while I took her photos. Baby does have a tendency to get overstimulated easily. She would benefit most from a family who will provide clear boundaries and structure in her future home and one who will continue to teach her new things!

Diva is such a sweet little lady. She may only have one eye but she isn't lacking any charm. She excitedly greeted me from her kennel and had the full body wiggles, excited to get to the yard.
Diva just got back from PAWS and once we got to the yard she showed me all she learned. After a little work, which she was happy to do, we played a bit. Diva was so excited to play and was extra stoked that I brought out a soft toy to toss around. She loved chasing after it but preferred to then sit and chew on it independently. She was so gentle and did well when I asked her to give it back so I could throw it again.

Diva is very food motivated and enjoyed staying close, looking to me for direction. She is also very affectionate and loved gently nuzzling up to me for attention. She did get spooked a couple times from loud noises and can be a bit timid at times but recovers quickly.

Meet Zoe! Zoe is a gorgeous and affectionate girl who is ready for her glow up. Zoe is pretty underweight but she is already on her way to a better life. She is food motivated and takes treats so gently. She does seem a little reserved at first but quickly comes out of her shell.
Zoe is a good balance of independent and affectionate. She was happy doing her own thing in the play yard and would come check in with me often. When she did she would lean her full body weight into my legs and slide down to the ground and onto her back for belly rubs. This definitely brought out her goofy zoomies.
Zoe really showed her playful side when I brought out the toys. She immediately dropped into a play bow and it was game on. She had lots of fun engaging in play with me as well as some on her own.
