Lobo- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!
Lobo is available for adoption!
Volunteer Jada writes-
Meet Lobo! At first glance, Lobo might seem a little reserved, but give him a moment and you’ll see what a lovebug he truly is. Once he opens up, his personality shines, he’s full of affection and loves to stay close for pets and cuddles.
Lobo is a smart cookie, he’s very food motivated and already knows how to sit and quickly learned to stay while I stepped back for some photos! He may not have had much formal training yet, but he’s clearly eager to learn and catches on fast.
Unfortunately Lobo has recently been diagnosed with a torn cruciate. The area of the injury is his knee. CBLO surgery is recommended. The rescue will provide the surgery for an adopter once Lobo is settled into his new home and comfy.
He will need an adopter(s) willing to
help him recover at home.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll blossom into your best friend with a little patience and structure, Lobo is your guy!
BREED: Bully breed blend
AGE: 2 years old
WEIGHT: 50 lbs
HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered and micro-chipped
GOOD WITH: GOOD WITH: Best as only pet; Children, cats, and other small animals not recommended.

Piano- PAWS GRAD!
PAWS PRISON TRAINING PROGRAM GRAD!
Piano is available for adoption!
This sweet, playful guy LOVES other energetic dogs and would thrive with a canine buddy who enjoys running, playing, and having fun. He’s not just cute, he’s also incredibly well-trained! Piano knows sit, down, place, stay, RECALL, and even a few fun tricks.
Piano is best suited for a home without children, as he really values his favorite toys and food. The good news? His behavior is very manageable thanks to his solid training and love for structure. He happily goes to his place, waits patiently while his food is set down, and only eats when given his release command, "ok!"
Piano truly shines in a structured environment and is what we’d call “turn-key", ready to walk right into a home and be an amazing companion. He’d make the perfect running partner or a fun playmate for another high-energy dog who needs a buddy to burn off some energy.
If you’re looking for a smart, active, and affectionate dog, Piano might just be your perfect match! 💙

Rudy- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!
Rudy is available for adoption!
BBBR volunteer Jada reports- Say it with me Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! This handsome guy is more than his good looks, he is very lovable, affectionate and playful. Rudy eagerly greeted me at his kennel door, he was loose bodied and excited but did not jump. He excitedly helped me choose a toy to play with in the yard and was ready to get right to it once we made it outside.
Rudy absolutely loved playing with the toy. He happily pranced and trotted around showing it off. He briefly played with it independently but the majority of the time wanted to me to engage and join in the play with him. Despite being an older gentleman, he certainly does not let that slow him down. This guy has such a fun and playful spunkiness. While there was no aggression at all around his toys, and he invites you to play with him, he does lack a bit of impulse control and will try to grab at the toy impatiently. Until he learns some boundaries I would not recommend Rudy for a home with young kids. Rudy is also very food motivated and will drop whatever he is doing for a treat. Food is a great motivator for him and will help when building a training foundation with him. He knows how to sit already and shows a desire to learn.
Rudy is very affectionate and people oriented. He loved being close the entire time we spent together and would lean in for pets. Rudy is such a sweet boy and will make such a great addition!
PERSONALITY TRAITS: While Rudy can be very independent he is also very affectionate, lovable and a cuddle bug. He’s a warm hearted guy that likes to have fun and share his toys. What a freaking sweetheart!
Rudy is a gentle easy going guy that would love to live with another dog with his energy. He would do best with respectful children 12+. Rudy knows “sit” and he’s working on “come” and “stay”.
Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Rudy: Meet Rudy, our happy, handsome golden-hearted senior boy! When you first meet him, don’t expect instant cuddles — this guy has places to be and mysteries to solve! The moment he’s out of his kennel it’s 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐! Nose down, tail up, sniffing every corner like a detective on a mission. “What’s that? And that?” The world is just too interesting to sit still. But bring out the treats and oh boy… you’ve got his whole heart. His eyes light up like he just struck gold. He’ll follow you anywhere, do almost anything, and once you have his attention, he melts into 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. Toys are where Rudy really shows his soft side. Toss him a ball with a rope and suddenly this busy explorer turns into a total cuddle bug. He doesn’t just want to fetch — he wants to share. He’ll place it right in your lap like, “Come on… let’s play together.” Because to Rudy, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. In playgroups he’s enthusiastic and bouncy, sometimes a little too forward, (He can get over stimulated and try to mount his doggie companions) but he listens to corrections from his handlers and is happily hangs out with gentle, easy-going dog friends. He just wants to be part of the fun. Rudy is a happy-go-lucky senior with so much life and love left to give. He dreams of simple things.

Baby - URGENT FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED. KENNEL STRESSED.
Baby is available for adoption!
BBBR Volunteer Jada shares-
Meet Baby! This little firecracker is full of spunk and ready to dish out kisses. She is a very affectionate girl and has a smile that’s a mile wide.
Baby has a lot of energy packed into her compact body. She wasn’t very interested in toys at the time but that may change as she settles in with us. This was her first time in the large play yard and everything else was just more exciting. The one thing that did catch her interest was treats. Baby is very treat motivated and super smart!
Without a doubt this meatball has such a desire to learn and work. She knows how to sit, was easily lured into a down and confidently waited to be released while I took her photos. Baby does have a tendency to get overstimulated easily. She would benefit most from a family who will provide clear boundaries and structure in her future home and one who will continue to teach her new things!
The shelter reported-
Baby is a sweet, loving girl who’s ready to find her new home. She absolutely adores attention and will
happily soak up all the love you have to give. Baby has a playful spirit and enjoys running around, playing, and exploring her surroundings.

Sadie-MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED!
Sadie is available for adoption!
BBBR volunteer Jada reports-
"This is Sadie, she is a gorgeous little brindle girl with a coat as stunning as her personality. She’s full of fun, playful energy and is searching for an active home that’s ready to bring her along for every adventure.
She’s food‑motivated, but her true love is the ball. Sadie lives for fetch. She’s working hard on her patience while waiting for the next throw, she can get a little vocal to remind you she’s ready for the next throw. But even in one play session, she showed great improvement with only a little work. While she waits for that next throw she happily shows off a a wide toothy smile.
Sadie also seems to understand “drop it” and will release the ball so the game can continue. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and absolutely loves being loved on. With a bit of basic training to help with impulse control, she’s going to shine.
Sadie will make an amazing addition to an adventurous family who wants a loyal, energetic companion by their side. She’s ready to run, explore, and love with her whole heart."

Toe
Toe is available for adoption!
Jada reports-
This is Toe! Due to some unforseen circumstances he is back at the rescue. We aren't sure what exactly is going on with his coat quite yet, but he will be seen by a vet soon. Despite his appearance looking a little rough, this guy didn't let it bother him one bit.
He happily greeted me in the yard with body wiggles and leaning in for pets. Now, this boy loves toys, but he walked away from his toy he was chewing on to greet me and come say hello. He wanted to be close and wanted to engage.
We started off by playing a bit. You can tell he lives for a good game of fetch. He is fast, he is agile but better yet he is connected with the person he is playing with. He brought the toy back to me every time. Toe knows how to drop the toy to keep the game going. He was willing to play until he could no longer breathe, or unless you have treats! He also didnt obess over the toy once it was put away.
Toe is very food motivated and so obedient. He's got a good handle on some basic obedience in low stimulating environments like sit, down, stay and coming when his name was called. He was such a good boy.
Toe's world is a little upside down right now and he really is just looking for a soft place to land. He is looking for a home body to call family, a family that wants to spend quality time with him, play with him and get out one some walks. Otherwise this guy would love to curl up with his people on the couch and just be together. Come meet Toe!
BREED: Bully breed blend
AGE: 5 yrs
WEIGHT: 52 lbs
HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered and micro-chipped GOOD WITH: Other dogs (selective); respectful children 10+; cats and other small animals unknown

Aggie- NEW ARRIVAL!
Aggie is available for adoption!
Aggie is a 1.5 year old pittie mix and very petite.
Aggie is a joyful little pup, she likes to take mornings slow and snuggly, then ramps up by mid day and is ready to play.
She loves the KONG, tug rope, running, sun bathing, snuggling, and fetch.
She is kennel trained and potty trained.
Aggie is very food motivated which has made training go smoothly. Aggie can sit, lay down, and stay.
Aggie spent her puppy days on the street and as such she comes with some quirks. She is highly food motivated and eats very fast. She does best with a slow feeder bowl. Aggie can become over stimulated quickly. She has a prey drive and will chase small animals like squirrels, birds and small dogs.
Aggie lacks social skills with other dogs and gets over stimulated. Aggie would benefit from a single dog home in a quiet or rural neighborhood with a yard where she doesn’t have to compete for attention or food.
Aggie walks by other dogs fairly well but when released to play she has become reactive due to overstimulation.
All in all Aggie is highly intelligent and loving. She would be great running companion.
Whomever adopts Aggie will have a loyal companion.

Cliff
Cliff is available for adoption!
BBBR volunteer Jada shares-
Meet Cliff! He’s a big, goofy guy with puppy like joy. Huge blocky head, big floppy paws, and absolutely no idea where his body is half the time. Watching him move and play is so entertaining and it’s honestly one of his best qualities.
The first thing you’ll notice about Cliff is how excited he is to meet people. He doesn’t just say hello, he celebrates you. Full body wiggles, enthusiasm turned all the way up, and yes, he’s a jumper. He’s incredibly affectionate. Cliff is a leaner in the truest sense, he’ll press his whole weight into you and slowly melt toward the floor while you pet him. It’s hard not to laugh, and even harder not to love him for it.
He does know how to sit, which he’ll happily show you, briefly. Cliff’s attention span is short, and he’s easily distracted by, well, anything. But he is both food and toy motivated, which is a huge plus when it comes to training. He’s also very gentle taking treats, which is a nice contrast to his otherwise enthusiastic approach to life.
We spent some time playing, and he had an absolute blast chasing the ball. Again, coordination was optional, but his joy is not. He wants to engage, he wants to interact, and you can see that he genuinely enjoys being with people.
Cliff is going to need some basic manners and structure. He doesn’t quite understand boundaries yet, and his size means that’s something his future family will need to take seriously. The good news is he has all the ingredients to learn, he’s social, eager, and clearly wants to please.
At the end of the day, Cliff is just a really sweet dog in a big, clumsy body. He’s fun, affectionate, and the kind of dog that will keep you laughing while also being completely devoted to his people. With a little guidance and consistency, he’s going to grow into an incredible companion.

Raffi
Raffi is available for adoption!
Meet Raffi! When first I approached his kennel, he wasn’t the dog bouncing at the front asking to come out. He hung back, unsure, watching and trying to decide if the world outside his space was something he could trust. When I brought him out to head to the yard, that uncertainty followed him. He moved cautiously, low to the ground at times, like he was bracing himself for something he didn’t quite understand.
It’s clear Raffi hasn’t always felt safe.
Once we made it into the yard, though, something started to shift. He was still timid, still careful, but he chose to come up to me. He leaned in for pets, soft and gentle, like he wanted the connection but wasn’t quite ready to trust. The longer we sat together, the more he stayed close. You could feel him wanting that comfort, that reassurance.
Raffi will take treats, and he wants to engage, but when he’s feeling unsure, that confidence can fade quickly. He’s the kind of dog who needs patience more than anything, someone who understands that trust isn’t automatic for him, but something he’s learning piece by piece.
And then I brought out a toy. At first there was some hesitation. But it didn’t last long. Before I knew it, Raffi was hopping around, tossing the toy in the air, completely in his own little moment of joy. He even got vocal with his play, which I didn’t expect at all. It was like watching a different dog peek through, just waiting for the right moment to feel safe enough to come out. Seeing that light come into his eyes was something special.
Raffi is incredibly sweet. He is gentle, his approach, his energy, the way he interacts. Underneath that cautious exterior is a soulful dog who wants to connect, who wants to trust, and who is going to blossom in the right home.
He will need a quieter environment and a family that can give him time, structure, and patience as he builds his confidence. He’s not going to walk in the door as the bold, carefree dog but you can already see that dog inside him. I got just a glimpse of it, and it was enough to know there is so much more waiting to come out.
Raffi doesn’t need perfection. He just needs someone willing to go at his pace and build his confidence. And when that happens, I think he’s going to be something really special.

Meet Dale! Dale is a handsome guy with a lot of energy. Dale can be a lot of dog but he sure is a good one! Dale is completely and unapologetically ball obsessed. He can play and play until he physically can’t anymore.
He’s a gorgeous brindle with that big, wide, open-mouthed petty smile that makes it impossible not to laugh. It’s clear he hasn’t had much structure or training in his past, so he’s still learning the basics. He’s strong, determined, and needs someone willing to show him how to slow things down because he wants to experience all the world has to offer, right now. He’ll also need help with impulse control and general obedience. But here’s the good part, dogs like Dale, with this kind of drive for toys are actually really fun to train. Toys and play are his language, and that’s a powerful tool when it comes to training and bonding with a dog. Food is great too, Dale also loves a good treat and will work for food as long as a ball isn’t in sight.
Dale is a bit of a wild child and he will do best in an active home that is looking to really engage and nurture a strong relationship with their dog. He isn’t a “ set him loose in the yard and call it good” kind of dog. He wants interaction, direction, and someone who’s willing to put in a little time to help him be his best self.
Dale isn’t wild all the time and it’s during these moments that you can really see his sweet, softer side and all the potential that is in him! Dale enjoys a good back scratch and being close to his people. It’s a pretty great reward after all that energy.
Dale isn’t perfect, yet but he’s full of potential, personality, and heart. With the right person, he’s going to be an incredibly fun, loyal, and rewarding companion. He is just looking for someone willing to meet him where he is and to give him that chance.

Chip
Chip is available for adoption!
BBBR Volunteer Jada reports-
Meet Chip.
If you're looking for a calm, leisurely companion who enjoys spending his days lounging around the house, Chip would like to respectfully suggest that you keep scrolling.
If, however, you're looking for a dog who treats every day like the greatest adventure ever created, then saddle up.
Chip is an adorably wild and wonderfully goofy boy who seems determined to squeeze every possible ounce of fun out of life. From the moment he stepped into the play yard, it was clear that this boy has two speeds, fast and faster.
Chip is very food motivated and can be very focused and attentive when treats are involved. He knows how to sit but will need some additional basic obedience. His attention span may be short, but his enthusiasm is endless.
And speaking of enthusiasm, Chip absolutely loves toys.
The second toys came out, so did Chip's full personality. He chased, pounced, sprinted, and played with the kind of excitement that makes it impossible not to laugh. Every now and then he'd suddenly decide that running at top speed was the most important thing in the world and launch into a full zoomie session.
Chip is the kind of dog who would thrive with an active family and a yard where he can stretch thos legs and burn off some of his endless energy. He currently pulls pretty hard on leash, but it's hard to blame a dog who finally has opportunities to get out, explore, and move. With consistency, exercise, and some training, I think he's going to make great progress.
Underneath all that energy is a sweet, happy boy who genuinely loves life. Everything is exciting. Everything is worth investigating. Everything is an opportunity for fun.
Chip is looking for a family ready to embrace his adventurous spirit, laugh at his antics, and help guide all that enthusiasm into becoming the very best version of himself. If you're searching for a running buddy, a toy enthusiast, and a dog who will make every day feel a little more exciting, Chip may just be your perfect match.

Duke
Duke is available for adoption!
BBBR volunteer Jada reports-
Meet Duke.
The first thing I noticed about Duke was how excited he was to say hello. The moment I approached his kennel, his whole body was wagging and not just his tail, all of him. If happiness had a physical form, Duke would be it!
Duke is still settling in after his long trip from Texas, and like many dogs who have just arrived, he's taking some time to figure everything out. He does need a little work on leash manners and can pull pretty hard when he's excited, but he is just ready to get out and explore.
Once we made it to the play yard, Duke seemed a little unsure of my camera. There were moments where his nerves peeked through, due to loud noises and the wind, which is completely understandable given how much change he's experienced recently. What seemed to help most was staying close. Duke was happiest when he was right next to me, leaning in for pets and soaking up affection. There is something so sweet when dogs finds comfort being near their people, and Duke is definitely that kind of dog.
He's very food motivated and takes treats with the gentlest mouth and the cutest underbite. While he doesn't seem to have much basic obedience training yet, he appears eager to connect with people, and tasty snacks will go a long way in helping him learn.
I also brought out a toy to see if he wanted to play. Duke chased after it, but once he got there, he seemed a little unsure of what came next. Maybe it was nerves, or maybe toys are still a new concept. Either way, it felt less like a lack of interest and more like a dog who is still learning how to relax and let his personality shine. I have a feeling that as the days go by and he settles in, we're going to learn a lot more about who Duke really is.
If you're looking for a sweet dog with a goofy grin, a gentle heart, and enough full-body wiggles to brighten even the toughest day, Duke might be the perfect addition to your family.

Banana- NEW ARRIVAL!
Banana is available for adoption!
Banana just arrived. We will update her photo and bio when we get to know her a little better.
This girl was a shelter staff favorite foster.
The shelter reported-
Meet Banana, SUNSHINE in dog form! 🍌🤍 Banana is approximately 2½ years old and has already survived more than most dogs you have probably ever met. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date with her vaccines and prevention! She first came into our shelter in Texas on 4/7/2025. Banana came to us after losing a fight with a porcupine leaving her unable to see very well with all of the quills in her face. To make things worse, because of her obstructed vision, she was then hit by a car. Once she made it to safety with us, she was fully vetted and had all of the quills in her face removed, but unfortunately, she still had to fight through heartworm treatment after testing positive for heartworm disease— which she completed like an absolute champion! She is so brave! Banana was then finally able to receive x-rays of her back legs and pelvis after not seeing much improvement in her mobility and pain levels after being at the shelter for a few weeks. This was when my husband and I decided she need to come home with us to heal. Her x-rays showed that her pelvis was shattered and her back leg was displaced, but they had already started healing incorrectly before she could receive care. Doctors decided that surgery would do more harm than good so they opted for pain management and giving her a better quality of life. Because of that, Banana will always have a little bit of a different gait than most dogs, but she takes a once a day pain medicine to help keep her active and happy and it has changed her life! She limps sometimes, runs hilariously funny, sits a little goofy, gets “tired” quicker than other dogs, and needs some assistance getting on the couch, into beds, or into vehicles that have higher surfaces. She can’t really stand up on her back legs too well (even though she continues to try), but honestly she has adapted better than most humans ever would! She will literally pull herself up onto the couch using only her front legs and strength because she’s determined to be wherever her people are! Despite everything she’s been through, Banana is so extremely HAPPY. She does not let her "limitations" stop her from living life to the fullest and she lives a completely pain free and normal life otherwise! Banana is potty trained, crate trained, knows commands (when she feels like listening 😅 ), and is extremely dog friendly with proper introductions. She can be timid and shy with new people at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes the ultimate velcro dog. She HAS to be touching her humans at all times. She’s obsessed with cuddles, gives endless kisses, and gets dramatically jealous if she’s not the center of attention. She also makes the weirdest dinosaur noises imaginable when she wants attention or breakfast. Seriously… no dog should sound like this 😂 Banana is incredibly food motivated, loves enrichment activities, and needs tough toys because she is a pittie and a professional-level super chewer. She plays hard, loves hard, and lives life with the funniest, happiest spirit despite everything her body has been through. And can we talk about her adorable little underbite?! Because I’m obsessed. Banana is not a “perfect” dog on paper. She’s quirky. She’s clingy. She’s needs a little extra help sometimes. She’s a little broken, physically— but she is truly one of the most resilient, loving, hilarious, dogs I have ever met. She is truly joy in dog form! She just needs someone willing to see how truly special she really is and give her the good life she so desperately deserves.

Izzy (Male) NEW ARRIVAL!
Izzy is available for adoption!
Izzy just arrived. We will update his photo and bio when we get to know him a little better.
The shelter reported-
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Izzy is shy at first but warms up easily! He is also known to be gentle, fun, and so stinking sweet! Izzy does well with other dogs and could live with another dog that matches his energy. He would do best with respectful children 10+.
Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Izzy: Izzy came to us after living life as a long-time stray in pretty rough shape. He was extremely emaciated, sick, and clearly hadn’t had an easy life. Since being with us, he’s finished all of his medications and is finally starting to recover well and put weight back on-- he is still very underweight, but is currently on a re-feeding schedule with a slow feeder. It’s been really rewarding watching him slowly start to feel better and show more of his personality!
Izzy can be shy and unsure at first, especially with new dogs and people, but he is a very sweet dog once he settles in. He just needs a little patience and time to feel comfortable. Once he opens up, he becomes such a goofy, lovable boy with the best smile and tail wags. He enjoys affection, loves treats, and is starting to really seek out attention from the people he trusts. He does well with other dogs that match his energy level and would likely do best with calmer companions. He’s also working on his leash manners and continues to improve the more confidence he gains! Izzy has come a long way already and deserves a family/home willing to continue helping him build confidence and finally have the stable, loving life he’s missed out on for so long.

Pepsi- NEW ARRIVAL!
Pepsi is available for adoption!
Pepsi just arrived. We will update his photo and bio when we get to know him a little better.
The shelter reported-
Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Pepsi: Pepsi is a big, strong boy with a soft side that shows pretty quickly once you spend time with him. He’s athletic, a little goofy, and genuinely enjoys being around people. He ended up at the shelter after being abandoned by his family, left without food, water, or shelter. Since then, kennel life has been tough on him. He’s not at his best in that environment—he’s much happier when he’s out, running around and getting some attention. Pepsi is friendly and easy to engage with. He likes people, seeks out affection, and has a silly streak that comes through when he starts to relax. He can be strong on leash and doesn’t always realize his size, but it’s more excitement than anything else. He’s also done well with other dogs here and has shown that he can be social and appropriate with them, which is a big plus. He is even being housed with another dog in his kennel! Pepsi would do best with someone who can give him some structure, regular exercise, and the chance to just be a dog again. He’s got a lot of good in him and he just needs out of the shelter and into a home where he can settle in and feel secure. He didn’t deserve how he ended up here, but he’s ready for something better. He would greatly benefit from training, structure, and an active lifestyle!
