CHECK OUT HER FINAL CGC TEST VIDEO LINK BELOW!
PERSONALITY TRAITS
Nova is a very unique and special girl. She had a horrible start to life very early on. Because of this she needs a person(s) that will give her special attention, lots of patience, not force her into unfamiliar
situations and let people know not to interact with her until she is ready. She needs to know they will
not abuse her. Nova is not a dog for everyone – she needs a very special kind of understanding
human(s).
She needs:
• Consistency with <positive reinforcement> training and routine
• Time to adapt to new situations/things/people – all must be taken slowly
• Needs to be on leash when meeting new people, letting her use her nose to smell people from a distance.
• Due to her excitement level needs slow intro to other dogs
• Child-free environment
She is:
• Medium-high energy level
• Dog friendly
• Improving meeting new people
Once you bond with Nova she will be your best friend. She is very loyal and she will let you do anything to her once she trusts you. You will have a very faithful companion. When she gets past her
fears she knows her commands and she walks well on a leash. It just takes consistency and some time
but it’s worth it.
Are you interested in meeting Nova...understanding her needs in order for her to succeed? If so, please
contact Dan the Dog Trainer (above). She is a wonderful pooch – you will not be sorry!

Biscuit- DEC 2024 PAWS PRISON PRISON PROGRAM GRAD!
Biscuit is available for adoption!
CAT FRIENDLY and LITTLE DOG FRIENDLY- (he thinks he's a tiny lap dog himself) This BIG guy is a big sensitive sweet baby. He doesn't realize his size, we speculate he is mixed with a giant breed such as Great Dane.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Biscuit is a big goofy guy whose limbs seem to have a mind of their own, flying in all directions as he gallops around the yard. He can be slow to warm up to new people. But once out in the yard where he has the freedom to create space for himself he opens up quickly. Once you are in with Bis, you are IN! Biscuit is both toy and treat motivated and a PAWS GRAD, HE KNOWS A LOT OF COMMANDS! CHECK OUT HIS CGC test below!
Former Foster Family- “Biscuit is big and bouncy but when tuckered out (just a walk or a swim in the water) is a great snuggle. He's great on leash, totally house trained, and tolerates his kennel very well (he eats in his kennel, sleeps there overnight, and is kenneled when left alone). He is a lover of all dogs (he's in foster with a rescue director so has lived with about 30 dogs over the last 4 months) and is pretty respectful if dogs don't want to play. He is absolutely safe with little dogs, we recently had an adult 6 lb-er and she absolutely dominated him. Biscuit is living with 4 cats, has no interest in them, if they often end up sleeping on the couch together.
Biscuit loves water, loves fetch and tug, and gives great kisses! He's very human attuned and eager to bond with his someone. Biscuit does startle at loud noises/commotion and can be a nervous fellow in new situations. He spent a week with an 7 year old and was almost immediately comfortable with her. He’s good in the car, mostly quiet, oozes loads of joie de vivre and has become a wonderful, proper pet. He is not destructive in the house and doesn't have any situational anxiety that we have seen. His recall is perfect and he enjoys lots of off-leash time too. He has been in foster since 4/6. He was at risk for euthanasia in the Pecos Animal Shelter.”
Want to meet Bis? Please submit a pre-adoption application at www.boisebullybreedrescue.com (under forms tab)
BREED: Bully breed blend
AGE: 3 years
HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered, and micro-chipped. HW negative.
GOOD WITH: Other dogs AND CATS; older (8+) respectful children; other small animals unknown

Feast your eyes on this beautiful creation we call Geppetto, Gepp for short! You can call him anything you want, he is not name driven, but sign language /command driven! This guy is THE missing piece to your boring life. He is constantly giving us a peek into his funny side, his personality is truly one of a kind, like his ears! Where can you find a side ear flop THAT cute?!
If you haven't ever considered a deaf dog, we ask you to consider Gepp! Deaf dogs are often even more focused as they can't hear distracting noises! Gepp is a PAWS grad! Yep, you heard us right. And he is GOOD at commands. Check out his CGC video below where he passed with 100%! 10 separate tests within one final test, and he aced them allllll.
You have a few balls to play with him in the yard? He will be STUCK to your side. He loves to play ball. He also loves to walk!
Gepp is a GOOD playmate, he loved playing with all the dogs at PAWS. He is a rough and tumble player who also appreciates a good rest between play rounds. Mikey- FEB 2025 PAWS PRISON PRISON PROGRAM GRAD!
Mikey is available for adoption!
Mikey is a recent PAWS prison training program graduate!
PAWS report -
Weekly Summary Week 7:
This week was great for Mikey! We spent lots of time shaping tricks, making videos, taking pictures, and getting prepared for his final test. Mikey is such an excellent dog and it was a privilege to work with him this round. I know he’ll find his forever home in no time!
2/8/25 Daily Journal
Today we had our final pre CGC preparation test. Mikey scored a 9/10. He had a good test, but during his sit and down he wouldn’t down so I just skipped the command because he wouldn’t pay attention and during his recall he came towards me then lost engagement and focused on sniffing the carpet. Overall, Mikey did so good this round and I am proud of the dog he is.

Ranger- NEW PAWS GRAD!
Ranger is available for adoption!
Ranger is just about as sweet as they get! This boy loves to literally lean into his people. He arrived to us on the tail end of a doggie cold (URI) but has since recovered. He is a bit unsure of the outside world but adapts with some encouragement and patience. We are pretty sure he is suffering from a broken heart, so many do when they lose "their people". He is non reactive when walking by the others kennels. He is a perfect size, about 55ish pounds.
This boy is a treasure.

Thor- NEW PAWS GRAD!
Thor is available for adoption!
Thor recently arrived back from 8 weeks of training at PAWS!
Thor
Weekly Summary: 6
This week we worked on preparing Thor for his final Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.
He did very good in all the commands that he usually struggled with like; standing still for inspection, and returning to the heel position on recalls. The entire team has done very well getting him ready as he did pass with the score of 10/10. Thor has been such a great dog showing no signs of aggression and remaining a low energy pet. He will be the perfect addition to any family.
Daily Journal Entry:
Today Thor got some overtime work with the few commands he still struggles with. It has been rainy this week and he hasn’t had a chance to get out and run so it may be some of that also. He went for his first side by side ride and absolutely loved it.

Arrow is a super-loving, playful boy who loves being around people! He is dog-friendly and enjoys off-leash doggy playgroups. Shelter staff & volunteer observations:
Our boy Arrow is as sweet as pie! He was found as a stray in rural South Texas. His sweet eyes express his gentle, loving personality. He has been so brave even though the shelter is very scary for him. Arrow has done well with multiple dogs, female and male on leash and off leash. He is very friendly and shows his doggy manners. Brock- PAWS GRAD! ENROLLED IN COURSE 2!
Brock is available for adoption!
Brock is a new PAWS graduate! We are so proud of you, Brock!
Brock is a beaut, he loves to play and "work"! He loves snacks and being told what a good boy he is. He is eager to please humans.
**We want to note how incredibly amazing it is that all the dogs learn as much as they do, in just 8 short weeks. It is a lot to pack in. Brock scored a PERFECT 10/10 on his PREP CGC test, but the day of the final CGC, he scored 6/10. It isn't because Brock doesn't know his skills, he was simply having an off day, which is OK. We are still proud of you Brock. We too, have off days and know you are a smart star of a student!
To watch Brock perform his CGC test, click link below!
Weekly Summary Week: 7
Brock got a chance to work and play in a new environment, the snow, and he seemed to really enjoy playing in it but the work with the cold ground was to be expected with all dogs they don’t respond well to it he did execute the commands but was hesitant on it. Brock also has his final CGC test this weekend and we are confident in the fact he can do everything the test has to offer and we will maintain his commands and behavior through the rest of our time with him.
Daily Journal Entry: 2/06/2025
Brock was able to play in the snow and he seems to get the zoomies when he gets to walking in it. It would be good for him to be able to be off lead as he explored the world of snow. He also likes chasing snowballs as they are thrown in his direction. It’s quite funny.

Boulder- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!
Boulder is available for adoption!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Boulder just arrived and he is one handsome guy! He is still settling in and getting familiar with his new surroundings but doing great so far. He is such a sweet boy. He enjoys walks and does well with loose leash walking once outside of he building, he pulls a bit on the main floor but mainly due to excitement. In the yard he spent the first bit taking in all the new smells but once that was out of the way he would check in for pets and some attention. Boulder is treat motivated and knows how to sit. I brought out some toys for him to play with and while he was initially interested, he was still pretty distracted by his new environment. I am sure in a few days his play drive will surface once he is a bit more settled. He has a super easy going and fun personality that I can’t wait to see fully emerge as he gets more comfortable. Don’t wait to meet this guy, I am sure he will be swooped up quickly!

Duncan- URGENT-STRESSED
Duncan is available for adoption!
Duncan is back with us after being surrendered by the family he’s known for the past five years. To say he’s heartbroken would be an understatement. Now a senior, Duncan is trying to make sense of a world that suddenly looks nothing like the one he knew and it’s been hard on him.
The shelter environment has been incredibly stressful for Duncan. He’s shown a lot of reactivity in his kennel, but once he’s out and away from the noise and chaos, he becomes a completely different dog. Gentle, loving, sweet and still playful, Duncan will look at you with the softest eyes and give you the cutest smile. He’s scared right now. Confused. But behind all that uncertainty is a heart full of love, just waiting for someone to believe in him again.
Duncan needs a quiet, patient home—one without other pets, and ideally without young children, so he can take his time adjusting and find comfort in a slower pace. While his previous adopters marked him as kid-friendly, we know he’ll thrive best in a calm environment where he feels safe and supported.
He loves toys, treats, and still has so much life and love to give. What Duncan needs now is a soft place to land, someone to help him heal, and a forever family that won’t let him go again. If you have room in your heart and home for a dog who's lost his way and just needs someone to help him find it again, Duncan is waiting for you.

Achilles- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!
Achilles is available for adoption!
Achilles just arrived to BBBR, but he’s already winning hearts with his fun-loving spirit and sweet personality. He’s a playful, affectionate dog who just needs a little time and confidence to really shine.
Right now, everything is still a bit new and overwhelming for Achilles, especially the noisy, busy shelter environment. He can be a little nervous when coming in and out of his kennel or walking through the main floor with all the other dogs barking. But give him a little space and take him outside, and you’ll see the real Achilles come out: happy, playful, and a total goofball!
He’s very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for training, which is perfect since he will be part of our next round of PAWS dogs. While he’s not super into toys right now, we think once he’s feeling more comfortable and settled, his curious and playful side will only grow.
Achilles is looking for a family that's patient, active and ready to help him build confidence as he adjusts to his new life. In return, he’ll give you lots of love, loyalty, and maybe even a few goofy zoomies.

Prime
Prime is available for adoption!
Prime has waited months to join our crew. We are so happy he finally made it! This happy go lucky older gentleman is all about the love. He is most certainly treat and food motivated, and could stand to put on a pound or two. Prime has the cutest squishy face and ears, photos don't do him justice!
From BBBR volunteer Jada- Prime is an adorably compact cutie with a big personality packed into a small frame. He is a little gentleman with a big heart. This older boy may have a few years under his belt, but don’t let that fool you, he’s still got plenty of pep in his step and a whole lot of love to give.
Prime wasn’t very interested in toys when I initially tried but I think with time in a home that will likely change once he decompresses a bit. He’s incredibly food motivated, which is great for training. He can sit with some guidance, but with some tasty treats and a little patience, he’s eager to learn more. Prime strikes a great balance between independence and affection. He’s happy to explore on his own but will circle back for love and pets from his humans. He’s got that special mix of being his own dog while still wanting to be part of the pack.
If you’re looking for a medium to low energy, spunky companion who just needs a soft place to land and a kind heart to help him thrive, Prime could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this sweet boy to see how special he is!

Doc- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT
DOC IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
VIDEO LINK BELOW
Doc is not even or just barely 2 years old and already has experienced the worst in humans. He was shot, the bb is lodged at the base of his ear.. We are uncertain which incident caused his blindness in his right eye. Doc sustained head lesions from being ran over by a car but has healed completely. Our veterinarian said that if he is acting ok, happy, and eating, she approves of him attending PAWS for 8 weeks, which is like a fun summer camp! She will look more in-depth at his eye when he returns.
Doc is a BIG boy, he will work on all of his basic commands at PAWS, and also address his leash mouthy behavior and jumping. He is just a puppy in a body he doesn't realize is so big!
Doc is a sweet and loving boy that needs a loving home. What shelter staff & volunteers had to say about Doc: Doc came into the shelter pretty beat up. He had been hit by a car. Luckily it just bumps and bruises that he has healed from. He also has been shot. He is a very sweet boy and affectionate but he is very kennel stressed now. He comes out of his kennel very excited and a little mouthy. This decreases his time outside his kennel which in turn makes his stress worse. He needs an environment where he is not in a kennel 24 hours a day. He loves to play in the yard, has made multiple friends. He has done well with children that volunteer at the shelter (ages 8 & 10)
Interested in meeting Doc upon his return from PAWS? Please submit our pre-adoption application!

Sarge- NEW ARRIVAL!
Sarge is available for adoption!
Sarge just arrived. We are getting to know him better. We will update his bio and photo soon. Here is what the shelter reported-
Sarge is a frequent-flyer at the shelter, due to no fault of his own. We originally met Sarge in January of 2022. Sarge was shy but an absolute love bug. He was returned by his adopter due to not being a good backyard dog. Neighbors complained about him trying to escape after being left outside every day. He was adopted again and found as a stray in March of this year. The owner was contacted and could not care for Sarge, so he was surrendered. Sarge was a little worse for wear. He came in with pretty bad skin due to a flea allergy. He has since made a full recovery, and his fur is coming back in nicely. Sarge was upset about being back
at the shelter and took a bit to warm up to us. Once he did, we got to see the goofy love-bug side of this
boy! Sarge is a CHARMER! He knows exactly how cute he is! He loves to go on walks and explore the grass. Sarge does need some help with leash manners but is very attentive to his people. He is very treat
motivated and sooooo gentle. Sarge knows how to be patient and is very gentle when asked. He is very photogenic, and I could not stop taking pictures of his cute face! Sarge does like a good cuddle and is a leaner!! He will sandwich himself to your side! He does like to do an inspection of your face but rarely gives face kisses... just little boops with his nose. Sarge loves toys and is very efficient at destroying a stuffie. This older boy turns into a cheeky little pup when given a toy. Sarge has a pretty epic toy dance and loves to show off his toys to everyone. He is a tug guy and will fight valiantly for his stuffie. Sarge is such a gem! This sweetheart deserves a great home! Please give him a chance! He is guaranteed to
steal your heart!! Sarge is in playgroups with gentle, flirty female dogs. He loves him the ladies! Sarge needs a girl to match his old man energy! Sarge was tested with one easy going male dog who did not like his energy.
BREED: Bully breed blend
AGE: 7 years
WEIGHT: 60 lbs
COAT LENGTH: Short
HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered, and micro-chipped.
GOOD WITH: Other gentle female dogs, possibly gentle male dogs; respectful children, no cats; other small animals unknown

Jackpot
JACKPOT IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
Jackpot was returned to rescue over the weekend. Jackpot will need a home without dogs or other dogs that visit the family home. There were ultimately two incidents that occurred over higher value items (ie. humans and food). As such, we make these recommendations for an only dog home.
Jackpot's adopters provided the following in hopes to help Jackpot find a better forever fit:
"Jackpot is just the goodest boy. We noticed dog reactivity very early and got him formal training to work on it. Since getting the training he is a great walker and needs minimal corrections to keep him focused on moving ahead. He is very sweet and much smarter than his block head would lead you to believe so he picks up things quickly. He knows sit very well but he also knows, place, stay, and break. He will sit patiently for his food until you say break. He is definitely not a morning dog. He is very good in his crate and will go into his crate with minimal asking. Once awake in the morning, he wants his fully body rub down and to do his happy goat kicks, then he wants his bathroom break, breakfast, and then it’s time for his morning naps. Don’t worry, he will let you know several hours later that he is ready for his walk with his dramatic sighs and plopping down by the door. He LOVES blankets and especially loves electric ones where he can thoroughly bake himself. He is just starting to learn how to play with toys and the joy they can bring but he LOVES to chew. Soft toys don’t stand a chance at all.
He hasn’t met a human he doesn’t love. I think his personal goal in life is to get pets and love from every person. He is great with all ages, even very young kids. He is so sweet around little ones letting them pet him and play with and tug his ears. He is also great in a car. He loves riding in the car seeing the sights, whether that is a short trip or a long one, he has done both and is great. He hardly barks so it will surprise you when he does.
If you’re looking for a couch potato with legs that LOVES nap time, walks, blankets, cuddles, and scratches, Jackpot is your guy! He also lives for pup cups or whipped cream straight from the can. He would just do best in a house where he is the only dog and likely wouldn’t be around other dogs. DEFINITELY no cats.
He did have problems with peeing in the house randomly for the first few months but very consistent trips outside and bells on the patio door helped and we hadn’t seen an accident for a month now.
I know Jackpot will make someone as happy as he has made us these past 5 months because he is such a good buddy and house hippo. He truly is the goodest boy and deserves all the love in the world."
