Lobo- URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED!

Volunteer Jada writes-
Meet Lobo! At first glance, Lobo might seem a little reserved, but give him a moment and you’ll see what a lovebug he truly is. Once he opens up, his personality shines, he’s full of affection and loves to stay close for pets and cuddles.

Lobo is a smart cookie, he’s very food motivated and already knows how to sit and quickly learned to stay while I stepped back for some photos! He may not have had much formal training yet, but he’s clearly eager to learn and catches on fast.

Unfortunately Lobo has recently been diagnosed with a torn cruciate. The area of the injury is his knee. CBLO surgery is recommended. The rescue will provide the surgery for an adopter once Lobo is settled into his new home and comfy.
He will need an adopter(s) willing to
help him recover at home.

This sweet, playful guy LOVES other energetic dogs and would thrive with a canine buddy who enjoys running, playing, and having fun. He’s not just cute, he’s also incredibly well-trained! Piano knows sit, down, place, stay, RECALL, and even a few fun tricks.

Piano is best suited for a home without children, as he really values his favorite toys and food. The good news? His behavior is very manageable thanks to his solid training and love for structure. He happily goes to his place, waits patiently while his food is set down, and only eats when given his release command, "ok!"

Piano truly shines in a structured environment and is what we’d call “turn-key", ready to walk right into a home and be an amazing companion. He’d make the perfect running partner or a fun playmate for another high-energy dog who needs a buddy to burn off some energy.

Linebacker - CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!

Meet Linebacker! This big boy was definitely built for the pros. While football may be his namesake, his head is practically the size of a basketball! This guy doesnt care what sport it is, as long as a ball is involved. He quickly learned where we store toys, right as we got to the yard he went straight to them, ready to play.

Linebacker is also very food motivated and knows some basic commands. He was so patient with me and sat like a gentleman and waited as I snapped his photos. He is very smart and took direction so well.

Linebacker is such a sweet boy and is truly a gentle giant. He loves to stay close, lean into you with his whole body and will try to fit his whole body in your lap if you allow it.

This hunk is such a catch, he's got the good looks, the brains and such a gentle disposition. He wont be with us for long, so get those applications in quick!

BBBR Manager and Trainer David shared-

"Linebacker is a big, lovable goof who's really just a giant baby at heart. He loves playing fetch and recently discovered how fun the garden hose is. He soaks up affection any chance he can get. Linebacker enjoys getting out on walks and exploring the world around him."

Linebacker is a very big guy, weighing in at close to 100lbs and would benefit gaining a few more pounds. For these reasons we are recommending a home with older children, as he may knock over children who are under the age of 6, unintentionally.

The shelter reported that Linebacker loves toys and playing with other dogs, particularly pushy females.

Rudy

Rudy is available for adoption!

BBBR volunteer Jada reports- Say it with me Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! This handsome guy is more than his good looks, he is very lovable, affectionate and playful. Rudy eagerly greeted me at his kennel door, he was loose bodied and excited but did not jump. He excitedly helped me choose a toy to play with in the yard and was ready to get right to it once we made it outside.

Rudy absolutely loved playing with the toy. He happily pranced and trotted around showing it off. He briefly played with it independently but the majority of the time wanted to me to engage and join in the play with him. Despite being an older gentleman, he certainly does not let that slow him down. This guy has such a fun and playful spunkiness. While there was no aggression at all around his toys, and he invites you to play with him, he does lack a bit of impulse control and will try to grab at the toy impatiently. Until he learns some boundaries I would not recommend Rudy for a home with young kids. Rudy is also very food motivated and will drop whatever he is doing for a treat. Food is a great motivator for him and will help when building a training foundation with him. He knows how to sit already and shows a desire to learn.

Rudy is very affectionate and people oriented. He loved being close the entire time we spent together and would lean in for pets. Rudy is such a sweet boy and will make such a great addition!

PERSONALITY TRAITS: While Rudy can be very independent he is also very affectionate, lovable and a cuddle bug. He’s a warm hearted guy that likes to have fun and share his toys. What a freaking sweetheart!
Rudy is a gentle easy going guy that would love to live with another dog with his energy. He would do best with respectful children 12+. Rudy knows “sit” and he’s working on “come” and “stay”.

Here is what shelter staff and volunteers have to say about Rudy: Meet Rudy, our happy, handsome golden-hearted senior boy! When you first meet him, don’t expect instant cuddles — this guy has places to be and mysteries to solve! The moment he’s out of his kennel it’s 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐! Nose down, tail up, sniffing every corner like a detective on a mission. “What’s that? And that?” The world is just too interesting to sit still. But bring out the treats and oh boy… you’ve got his whole heart. His eyes light up like he just struck gold. He’ll follow you anywhere, do almost anything, and once you have his attention, he melts into 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. Toys are where Rudy really shows his soft side. Toss him a ball with a rope and suddenly this busy explorer turns into a total cuddle bug. He doesn’t just want to fetch — he wants to share. He’ll place it right in your lap like, “Come on… let’s play together.” Because to Rudy, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. In playgroups he’s enthusiastic and bouncy, sometimes a little too forward, (He can get over stimulated and try to mount his doggie companions) but he listens to corrections from his handlers and is happily hangs out with gentle, easy-going dog friends. He just wants to be part of the fun. Rudy is a happy-go-lucky senior with so much life and love left to give. He dreams of simple things.

Big Boy- NEW PAWS GRAD!

Big Boy in a little body! Big Boy just got back from PAWS and has really come out of his shell. He is still timid in new situations but he recovers must better and has so much more confidence in opening up. When he first arrived at the facility he kept his distance in the yard until after a couple times meeting someone new and even then was very jumpy and startled easily. Once he started to open up, he showed his loving and playful side. Since returning from PAWS, with the confidence he built, that goofy side doesn't take long to emerge.

Big Boy is very food motivated which really helped in building an initial bond and some trust with him. He was more than willing to show me all he learned and seemed less anxious when focusing on training. This boy has such a soft, sweet demeanor. He loves to stay close to those he trusts and give all the loves.

I am so proud of the change I have seen in him and know his confidence will only continue to grow once he has found his forever home!

Baby

Baby is available for adoption!

Meet Baby! This little firecracker is full of spunk and ready to dish out kisses. She is a very affectionate girl and has a smile that’s a mile wide.

Baby has a lot of energy packed into her compact body. She wasn’t very interested in toys at the time but that may change as she settles in with us. This was her first time in the large play yard and everything else was just more exciting. The one thing that did catch her interest was treats. Baby is very treat motivated and super smart!

Without a doubt this meatball has such a desire to learn and work. She knows how to sit, was easily lured into a down and confidently waited to be released while I took her photos. Baby does have a tendency to get overstimulated easily. She would benefit most from a family who will provide clear boundaries and structure in her future home and one who will continue to teach her new things!

The shelter reported-
Baby is a sweet, loving girl who’s ready to find her new home. She absolutely adores attention and will
happily soak up all the love you have to give. Baby has a playful spirit and enjoys running around, playing, and exploring her surroundings. She’s a social butterfly who loves making new friends—both human and canine—and would do great in a home where she can continue to meet new people and dogs.

Reyna- MEDICAL CASE/RECOVERING

Reyna arrived with pneumonia amongst a few other health issues. We will open applications once she is feeling better and we have a better picture of her health overall. She recently was hospitalized and is now doing her best to try and recover in a medical foster home.

Meet Zoe! Zoe is a gorgeous and affectionate girl who is ready for her glow up. Zoe is pretty underweight but she is already on her way to a better life. She is food motivated and takes treats so gently. She does seem a little reserved at first but quickly comes out of her shell.

Zoe is a good balance of independent and affectionate. She was happy doing her own thing in the play yard and would come check in with me often. When she did she would lean her full body weight into my legs and slide down to the ground and onto her back for belly rubs. This definitely brought out her goofy zoomies.

Zoe really showed her playful side when I brought out the toys. She immediately dropped into a play bow and it was game on. She had lots of fun engaging in play with me as well as some on her own.

Freya- HOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED

Sweet Freya is in need of a hospice foster. 💔

Freya arrived experiencing complications from heartworm that have most likely caused irreversible damage to her pulmonary system. While her long-term prognosis is uncertain, she is responding very well to three medications helping manage those complications. She is also currently undergoing heartworm treatment and doing well on a gentler protocol than the standard 3-injection course.

Freya’s ideal home is calm, loving, and peaceful. She can live as an only dog or with low to moderate energy male or female dogs, as long as her activity is supervised. She crates well, quickly learned the dog door, and now goes outside to potty on her own.

Freya loves food, treats, snuggles, and being close to her people and other dogs. She is a true velcro dog and will happily follow you everywhere. If placed in a home with another dog, the other dog must be comfortable sharing their parents with her and also a good sport accepting allll the attention and affection Freya will give them, too.

While the initial medical prognosis of "guarded" made us very sad, we’re grateful Freya has the chance to spend whatever time she has left in a loving home instead of a loud, overcrowded shelter. She deserves comfort, kindness, and to be cherished every day.

Goose

"Meet Goose! This little cutie packs a lot of sweetness into a small package. Goose can take some time to warm up to new people, but once he does he is super affectionate. He greeted me with excitement in his kennel and was excited to get out to the yard but was a little timid in leading the way. He kept stopping and looking to me for direction.

Once we got to the yard we played a bit first to get him more comfortable with me before I brought my camera out. This guy loves to play with toys! He is working on giving the ball back in order to continue the game and is picking it up quickly. He was also more than willing to trade his toy for a treat. Being both food and toy motivated will help tremendously in building his confidence in new situations. Pairing something he enjoys like playing with toys or basic training with treats in situations where he may be nervous will help build his confidence.

He was nervous around my camera at first, but I paired the shutter noise with giving him a treat and his concern turned to curiosity very quickly.

In between play and pictures Goose just wanted to lean in close for pets. He is such a sweet boy that is looking for someone to have a little patience while he finds his confidence. He just needs someone to give him a chance and I know he will certainly rise to the occasion. Come meet this sweet boy and give him that chance!"

Diva- PAWS GRAD!

"Diva is back from PAWS training and once we got to the yard she showed me all she learned. After a little work, which she was happy to do, we played a bit. Diva was so excited to play and was extra stoked that I brought out a soft toy to toss around. She loved chasing after it but preferred to then sit and chew on it independently. She was so gentle and did well when I asked her to give it back so I could throw it again.

Diva is very food motivated and enjoyed staying close, looking to me for direction. She is also very affectionate and loved gently nuzzling up to me for attention. She did get spooked a couple times from loud noises and can be a bit timid at times but recovers quickly.

"Nolan is a fun, spunky guy with a goofy personality and a lot of love to give. He’s the kind of dog that can bring a lot of joy and laughter into the right home. Big ol’ goober included. If you’ve been looking for a buddy with personality, Nolan might be your guy!"

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Nolan is a very sweet, loving and friendly dog. Nolan does well with other dogs and could live with another calmer dog like himself. Nolan would do well with respectful children 5+. He would be a wonderful buddy to have around for life's adventures.

Nolan is about 3 years old and weighs 62 lbs. He’s as sweet as they come—calm, gentle, and incredibly loving. Being around him just feels peaceful. He has that soft, easygoing nature that makes you instantly fall in love. He came in microchipped but after numerous attempts to locate the owner he was set for adoption. He had a large black stain on his neck from a large collar that was too tight.
