Nova- 3/7/23 PAWS PRSION PROGRAM GRADUATE! CHECK OUT MY PAWS CGC VIDEO LINK!
NOVA IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Nova is a sweet loving girl at her core, but the world around her can be very scary. Her short life has been spent living within the shelter system, which is a very uncertain place to grow up as a puppy. It is very apparent that she has had little to no exposure to the outside world. Until she had the opportunity to attend the PAWs program she hadn't experienced confident leadership from anyone. Nova did amazingly well up at the PAWs program, but now that she is back in the environment she started in, it is really taking a toll.
Nova will need a confident person who will take the time to expose her to the world in a slow and controlled way to make sure that her experiences are positive ones. Her anxious mind races a million miles a minute and she will need to learn to work through that instead of trying to escape it. When Nova is scared she tries to run away. Because of this, physical touch and leashing in confined spaces, before she trusts you, is one of her main fears because there is nowhere to go and no way to create space for herself. Nova has also shown a greater fear towards men, but that is not to say that without patience and trust she won't come around. She proved at the PAWs program that she is willing to open up and face her fears, as long as her person is there to guide her safely and confidently through it.
When Nova lets her guard down she is just like any other playful puppy! She enjoys playing with toys, she is very food motivated and is just all around a fun goofy girl. She would love an active family, maybe someone who loves to run or hike! She is dog friendly and would LOVE a very playful and confident playmate who can also help show her the world isn't so bad! She is very much still a puppy and would need a friend who could keep up with her playfulness as well as teach her some rules of the playground. She doesn't always get the memo when another pup is done playing.
Dogs like Nova may not always be the easiest at the beginning but they truly are worth it. The bond you build with a dog as you navigate and overcome their fears and anxieties solidify a love that goes unmatched for a lifetime.
BREED: Bully breed blend
AGE: 1.5 Yrs
COAT LENGTH: Short
HEALTH: All rescue dogs are vaccinated, altered, and microchipped.
HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes
GOOD WITH: Other dogs; possibly children 15+due to her nervous skittish flight behavior; possibly cats; other small animals unknown

Rocky-CURRENT STUDENT IN THE PAWS PRISON PROGRAM!
Rocky is available for adoption!
Rocky ended up in the Weiser Pound and ultimately at BBBR's Animal Care Facility! He has obviously experienced neglect and stress within his short life (weighing in at only 35 lbs) but not anymore! BBBR will get him to a healthy weight and needless to say, our volunteers and staff will give him plenty of love in the process!
Rocky has a lot of energy and would be a great hiking, running, adventure partner. He would thrive in an active home. He has a loud bark so no one will be sneaking up on you! He's a bit nervous around unknown men but warms up quickly. Rocky could use a round of positive reinforcement training to brush up on his basic commands and learn some new tricks for you to show off to your friends. Respectful children 8+ years old are recommended.

Wally- 2024 PAWS PRISON PROGRAM GRADUATE!
WALLY IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Wally is fun and active; he loves to go for walks and play in the play yards. Wally would possibly be ok in a home with another energetic pup that matches his playstyle and energy.
Wally very recently returned from his 8-week PAWS Prison Training course. He was a very good student and thrived there! Wally scored an impressive 10/10 on his CGC
test! Click below to view his Canine Good Citizen final test!
Final PAWS report before returning-
This was Wally’s final working week. He has come a long way. He does very well on obeying all his commands. Wally
received a 10/10 on his CGC test. He still has room for improvement on his training, but the foundation is there. He
enjoys people and loves saying high to everyone he sees. His energy levels can still be very high at times but with a
positive outlet they are kept in check. Wally loves to cuddle and loves to lay around with his handlers after some exercise.
Wally also loves the water we sprayed him off with the hose after play and he just sits biting at the water and lapping it up. He checks in often when off lead and loves to come when recalled. Wally is a loving, caring, young dog and would be a great addition to someone’s home who has a lot of energy and is active.

Webster- 2024 PAWS PRISON PROGRAM GRADUATE!
Webster is available for adoption!
Webster is a recent 2024 PAWS Prison Program Graduate! Click the link below to watch his Canine Good Citizen final test at PAWS! Webster scored an impressive 10/10!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Webster is a handsome, fun, FUN guy!
Here is what one of his favorite volunteers has to say about him-
“Webster is such a cool dog. He has such an easy way about him. He has a such a good temperament. Especially for a young dog. He loves his walks and getting out to smell all the smells, but also will lay in the shade and chew on a stick or get a belly rub.
He is such a beautiful boy. I especially love his short, white eye lashes. And he is so smart and well behaved. He can get a little distracted and pull on the leash, but he easily corrects most of the time. I really enjoy spending time with him. He has a very calming presence about him. He is going to be a really special dog for someone.”
Webster is a rowdy tumble fun player, pairing him with another dog that can match his energy and endurance is best!
PAWS final report before on week 8-
This week was primarily focused on getting ready for Webster’s final CGC’s as well as continuing to shape tricks. When we first started working towards the MOC CGC’s Webby had a hard time working for no reward because we don’t use kibble during CGC’s so it was time to start fading them out. After a few sessions of no kibble, we went to only 5-6 pieces to keep him rewarded and engaged. During the next couple of days, he started performing much better in each MOC circle as he got used to working only for praise and engagement. Today Webby passed his final CGC’s with a 10/10 and did a great job! I was proud of his engagement and struggles that we both worked hard to overcome during the final test. Webby is such a sweet, loving boy who would never harm a soul. He loves his food, cuddles, and toys more than anything! Webby is very much ready to go out and find his forever home!

Edna
Edna is available for adoption!
Edna is currently in a foster home recovering from what appears to be skin related issues due to low thyroid. She is looking SO much better; her fur is filling in and her feet are healing. Big thank you to her loving foster parents for overseeing her medications and care.
Edna has been getting along great with the foster’s older pup, they have taken it slow and now can allow both dogs to freely roam and sniff away.
When Edna arrived to rescue it was clear that someone ignored her need for medical attention. She also has been a mother to at least one litter or more. It is Edna’s time to shine, feel well, and live her best life with a family.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
The shelter reported- Edna is a calm, gentle, friendly, and independent lady. She is good with other dogs and in off leash doggy playgroups. She would be fine in a home with respectful children and other dogs. Edna is a senior gal who desperately wants to have a loving home. She was in pretty rough shape when she came into the shelter but has improved immensely since being there. Edna loves being around other dogs, but her favorite thing is to be close to humans. She would make a wonderful companion to a retired couple/person.

Bud
Bud is available for adoption!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
Bud is just about the cutest little low ridin’ dude this side of the Mississippi! He is a joy to be around, a staff and volunteer favorite. Bud loves the company of anyone who has the time. He is a unique looking fella, full of personality and pizazz! Bud is easy to walk, loves his snacks and yard play time. Bud was recently neutered and did amazing for the vet team. He steals hearts wherever he goes.
Bud is not a fan of overexerting himself on walks, with exercise or by hanging out in hot temps. He is moderate to low energy but does get winded very easily. Darryl- CURRENT STUDENT IN THE PAWS PRISON PROGRAM!
Daryl is available for adoption!
Daryl just arrived and quickly left for the PAWS Training Program! We will update his bio as we get to know him!
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
The Shelter reported - Darryl is a young boy approximately 10 months old. He is not loving shelter life and is experiencing
generalized anxiety.
Darryl is good with other dogs but does not appear to have had any training.
Darryl may be lacking in some social experiences but he's making up for lost time and a quick study when learning basic training behaviors. He's already learned the commands “sit” and “find it.” A round of positive reinforcement classes would do wonders for Darryl to learn more basic commands to be his very best self.
Darryl also has a very sweet and tender side and loves to lie across peoples' laps for full body massages, belly rubs and snuggling. Darryl is super social and takes great comfort in being around other dogs. Because Darryl is still a puppy he has typical puppy behavior and can be jumpy and a little
mouthy and would do best in a home with older, respectful teens.
