Lobo- CURRENT PAWS STUDENT!
Lobo is available for adoption!

Meet Lobo! At first glance, Lobo might seem a little reserved, but give him a moment and you’ll see what a lovebug he truly is. Once he opens up, his personality shines, he’s full of affection and loves to stay close for pets and cuddles.
Lobo is a smart cookie, he’s very food motivated and already knows how to sit and quickly learned to stay while I stepped back for some photos! He may not have had much formal training yet, but he’s clearly eager to learn and catches on fast.
Unfortunately Lobo has recently been diagnosed with a torn cruciate. The area of the injury is his knee. CBLO surgery is recommended. The rescue will provide the surgery for an adopter once Lobo is settled into his new home and comfy.
He will need an adopter(s) willing to
help him recover at home.

BBBR volunteer Jada reports- Say it with me Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! This handsome guy is more than his good looks, he is very lovable, affectionate and playful. Rudy eagerly greeted me at his kennel door, he was loose bodied and excited but did not jump. He excitedly helped me choose a toy to play with in the yard and was ready to get right to it once we made it outside.
Rudy absolutely loved playing with the toy. He happily pranced and trotted around showing it off. He briefly played with it independently but the majority of the time wanted to me to engage and join in the play with him. Despite being an older gentleman, he certainly does not let that slow him down. This guy has such a fun and playful spunkiness. While there was no aggression at all around his toys, and he invites you to play with him, he does lack a bit of impulse control and will try to grab at the toy impatiently. Until he learns some boundaries I would not recommend Rudy for a home with young kids. Rudy is also very food motivated and will drop whatever he is doing for a treat. Food is a great motivator for him and will help when building a training foundation with him. He knows how to sit already and shows a desire to learn.
Rudy is very affectionate and people oriented. He loved being close the entire time we spent together and would lean in for pets. Rudy is such a sweet boy and will make such a great addition!

When you first meet him, don’t expect instant cuddles — this guy has places to be and mysteries to solve! The moment he’s out of his kennel it’s 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐! Nose down, tail up, sniffing every corner like a detective on a mission. “What’s that? And that?” The world is just too interesting to sit still. But bring out the treats and oh boy… you’ve got his whole heart. His eyes light up like he just struck gold. He’ll follow you anywhere, do almost anything, and once you have his attention, he melts into 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. Toys are where Rudy really shows his soft side. Toss him a ball with a rope and suddenly this busy explorer turns into a total cuddle bug. He doesn’t just want to fetch — he wants to share. Big Boy in a little body! Big Boy just got back from PAWS and has really come out of his shell. He is still timid in new situations but he recovers must better and has so much more confidence in opening up. When he first arrived at the facility he kept his distance in the yard until after a couple times meeting someone new and even then was very jumpy and startled easily. Once he started to open up, he showed his loving and playful side. Since returning from PAWS, with the confidence he built, that goofy side doesn't take long to emerge.
Big Boy is very food motivated which really helped in building an initial bond and some trust with him. He was more than willing to show me all he learned and seemed less anxious when focusing on training. This boy has such a soft, sweet demeanor. He loves to stay close to those he trusts and give all the loves.
I am so proud of the change I have seen in him and know his confidence will only continue to grow once he has found his forever home!

Meet Baby! This little firecracker is full of spunk and ready to dish out kisses. She is a very affectionate girl and has a smile that’s a mile wide.
Baby has a lot of energy packed into her compact body. She wasn’t very interested in toys at the time but that may change as she settles in with us. This was her first time in the large play yard and everything else was just more exciting. The one thing that did catch her interest was treats. Baby is very treat motivated and super smart!
Without a doubt this meatball has such a desire to learn and work. She knows how to sit, was easily lured into a down and confidently waited to be released while I took her photos. Baby does have a tendency to get overstimulated easily. She would benefit most from a family who will provide clear boundaries and structure in her future home and one who will continue to teach her new things!

"Meet Goose! This little cutie packs a lot of sweetness into a small package. Goose can take some time to warm up to new people, but once he does he is super affectionate. He greeted me with excitement in his kennel and was excited to get out to the yard but was a little timid in leading the way. He kept stopping and looking to me for direction.
Once we got to the yard we played a bit first to get him more comfortable with me before I brought my camera out. This guy loves to play with toys! He is working on giving the ball back in order to continue the game and is picking it up quickly. He was also more than willing to trade his toy for a treat. Being both food and toy motivated will help tremendously in building his confidence in new situations. Pairing something he enjoys like playing with toys or basic training with treats in situations where he may be nervous will help build his confidence.
He was nervous around my camera at first, but I paired the shutter noise with giving him a treat and his concern turned to curiosity very quickly.
In between play and pictures Goose just wanted to lean in close for pets. He is such a sweet boy that is looking for someone to have a little patience while he finds his confidence. "Diva is back from PAWS training and once we got to the yard she showed me all she learned. After a little work, which she was happy to do, we played a bit. Diva was so excited to play and was extra stoked that I brought out a soft toy to toss around. She loved chasing after it but preferred to then sit and chew on it independently. She was so gentle and did well when I asked her to give it back so I could throw it again.
Diva is very food motivated and enjoyed staying close, looking to me for direction. She is also very affectionate and loved gently nuzzling up to me for attention. She did get spooked a couple times from loud noises and can be a bit timid at times but recovers quickly.

"Meet Williamson! This handsome velvety hippo is just the sweetest boy. His fur is so soft and wrinkly, his paws are floppy and his ears have a personality of their own. It did not take long to fall for this handsome hunk.
Williamson greeted me happily with a loose body and no hesitation. He loved being pet and staying close, receiving all the attention.
Williamson is super smart and has a very high food and toy drive. Both these will be great tools for any future training with his new family. He knows a few of the basics like sit and is easily lured into a down with food. He truly shows a desire to learn and please. While he loves food, balls are really his pride and joy. He will need some work to lower his excitement around balls and help with his impulse control.
Williamson is past the puppy stage but has plenty of energy to go around, and unlike puppies he also knows how to relax for a good ol snooze! Come meet this sweet boy and fall in love as quickly as I did!"

"This is Sadie, she is a gorgeous little brindle girl with a coat as stunning as her personality. She’s full of fun, playful energy and is searching for an active home that’s ready to bring her along for every adventure.
She’s food‑motivated, but her true love is the ball. Sadie lives for fetch. She’s working hard on her patience while waiting for the next throw, she can get a little vocal to remind you she’s ready for the next throw. But even in one play session, she showed great improvement with only a little work. While she waits for that next throw she happily shows off a a wide toothy smile.
Sadie also seems to understand “drop it” and will release the ball so the game can continue. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and absolutely loves being loved on. With a bit of basic training to help with impulse control, she’s going to shine.

This is Toe! Due to some unforseen circumstances he is back at the rescue. We aren't sure what exactly is going on with his coat quite yet, but he will be seen by a vet soon. Despite his appearance looking a little rough, this guy didn't let it bother him one bit.
He happily greeted me in the yard with body wiggles and leaning in for pets. Now, this boy loves toys, but he walked away from his toy he was chewing on to greet me and come say hello. He wanted to be close and wanted to engage.
We started off by playing a bit. You can tell he lives for a good game of fetch. He is fast, he is agile but better yet he is connected with the person he is playing with. He brought the toy back to me every time. Toe knows how to drop the toy to keep the game going. He was willing to play until he could no longer breathe, or unless you have treats! He also didnt obess over the toy once it was put away.
Toe is very food motivated and so obedient. He's got a good handle on some basic obedience in low stimulating environments like sit, down, stay and coming when his name was called. He was such a good boy.
Toe's world is a little upside down right now and he really is just looking for a soft place to land. He is looking for a home body to call family, a family that wants to spend quality time with him, play with him and get out one some walks. Otherwise this guy would love to curl up with his people on the couch and just be together. Come meet Toe!

Dexter is a pretty easygoing dog with a calm, mellow personality. He does well in his kennel and is generally content to hang out and watch the world go by. His tail is almost always wagging, and he's got plenty of wiggle-butt energy when he's happy to see people.
On walks, Dexter does great. He enjoys exploring with his nose and taking in his surroundings, but he's not overly intense or difficult to handle. He doesn't seem to have much interest in chasing things and isn't particularly toy-driven. Overall, he's a relaxed dog that enjoys being around people without being overly demanding.
One challenge with Dexter is getting a good picture of him. Between his wagging tail and his tendency to be more interested in what's going on around him, he doesn't always make himself an easy model. But his easygoing nature and friendly demeanor more than make up for it.

Meet Pioneer! This gentle boy is the absolute sweetest. He was snoozing when I went to grab him from his kennel, once he woke up he met me with sleepy excited wiggles.
Once we got out in the yard Pioneer stayed close and made sure to take advantage of every opportunity to soak up pets and scratches. He'd lean into me and melt onto the turf for belly rubs. Pioneer has such a calm, gentleness about him and he was perfectly happy sitting together watching the sunset together.
Pioneer wasn't very interested in toys but he is food motivated. Someone has clearly put some time into teaching him. He knows how to sit and was easily lured into a down. He stayed in a sit with ease as I created distance to snap some photos and he happily trotted to me when I called. He takes treats so gently and isn't overly excited by food.
This sweet boy will make such a great addition to a laid back family who is looking for a new best friend to spend their time with. He doesn't need a fast paced life, but one filled with quality time together!

We've had no issues with him walking on a leash or being kenneled, and he does tested well too! He's very cute and likes to stretch and play bow, and his barks sound like "woo woo!". While he came in with a collar he looks like he's had a hard start to life and we'd love him to find a new loving home!
