This spunky little dude is all puppy - zoomies, toy collecting, treat snatching, and more zoomies. He’s convinced the world is his playground (and honestly, he’s not wrong).
Don’t let his squirrel level attention span fool you, though — when it’s time to train, Rocco’s got the brains to match the energy. He’s food motivated, eager to please, and already showing some serious potential. Nova is a very unique and special girl. She had a horrible start to life very early on. Because of this she needs a person(s) that will give her special attention, lots of patience, not force her into unfamiliar
situations and let people know not to interact with her until she is ready. She needs to know they will
not abuse her. Nova is not a dog for everyone – she needs a very special kind of understanding
human(s).
She needs:
• Consistency with <positive reinforcement> training and routine
• Time to adapt to new situations/things/people – all must be taken slowly

Meet Lobo! At first glance, Lobo might seem a little reserved, but give him a moment and you’ll see what a lovebug he truly is. Once he opens up, his personality shines, he’s full of affection and loves to stay close for pets and cuddles.
Lobo is a smart cookie, he’s very food motivated and already knows how to sit and quickly learned to stay while I stepped back for some photos! He may not have had much formal training yet, but he’s clearly eager to learn and catches on fast.
Unfortunately Lobo has recently been diagnosed with a torn cruciate. The area of the injury is his knee. CBLO surgery is recommended. The rescue will provide the surgery for an adopter once Lobo is settled into his new home and comfy.

help him recover at home.

Piano is a playful, sweet goofball! This boy has a lot of playful energy but listens pretty well and was very engaged with me. He loves people and attention. He can be a bit of a jumper when he is excited but it is manageable and with some guidance this would be easy to work through.
Piano is very smart and is also very food motivated, that combination will make training much easier! He also LOVES to play with toys and enjoyed it most when we played with the toy together. This sweet active boy is looking for a family that loves to get out and be active whether that be hiking, long walks or lots of play time with his favorite toys!

Pickle is is such a sweet guy. He met me with loose body wiggles when I approached his kennel, he was excited but easy to leash. We took a short walk as he is still recovering from his neuter. He loves to follow his nose and can pull a bit at first but with just a little guidance he walked easily with a loose lead. He seems to respond well to his name, he easily disengaged with the environment and turned his attention back on me when called.
After our walk we spent some time in the yard. He has such an easy going demeanor and he is such a joy to be around. He absolutely loves toys but we could play much as he is still recovering. Pickle is also very food motivated and caught on to some basic training very quickly. Once he realized I was looking for a "sit" and a short "stay" for a couple pictures, he had it down like a pro.
His ears are so filled with character as they flapped in the wind. He does has a unique paw that is a bit curved but it doesn't slow him down at all. Pickle is sweet, affectionate, smart and playful. He would make such a great addition to any family

Big Boy just arrived and then jetted off to attend a 6 week amazing training course at PAWS! Please check back on Mondays on our "current PAWS students" page on our website for weekly updates on his progress.

Tanner was calm and easy to leash up in his kennel and he walked nicely to the play yard. He wasn't very food motivated but sought out closeness and affection. While he was kept on lead in the yard, you can tell he has a playful and energetic side to him.
He's had a lot of changes recently, having just arrived and recovering from surgery we are continuing to learn more about his personality each day! Come meet this sweet, gentle boy. It won't take long to fall in love with him!

Don't let his frosty face fool you, he may have the looks of an elderly gentleman but this guy is still in his prime. I had so much fun with Watson in the yard. Not only does he have the good looks, this guy is SO smart! It is clear that someone put some time into him. He knows how to sit, down, stay, drop a toy and his recall in the yard was pretty great too!
Watson is very food motivated but he is a toy guy through and through. If we have any frisbee lovers out there, this guy would make an incredible disc dog!

and gentle play style. From our observations, he's social and playful with both dogs and people, though he can be a bit nervous about walking through doorways and is still learning to feel comfortable on

Meet LUKA, a sweet 1-year-old boy who seems to enjoy the company of other dogs with his laid-back
and gentle play style. From our observations, he's social and playful with both dogs and people, though he can be a bit nervous about walking through doorways and is still learning to feel comfortable on
leash. LUKA would benefit from a patient family who can help build his confidence as he continues to grow.

Duke is your typical block headed boy! He was found roaming the streets scared and alone. He came
into our care healthy and wearing a lilo and stitch collar-- So we do believe that he was someone's baby
at some point in time. He loves toys, treats, and to be anywhere he can run around. He is very sweet,
loving, and dorky, and we would love to see him find a forever home that he could thrive in!

BBBR volunteer Jada reports- Say it with me Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! This handsome guy is more than his good looks, he is very lovable, affectionate and playful. Rudy eagerly greeted me at his kennel door, he was loose bodied and excited but did not jump. He excitedly helped me choose a toy to play with in the yard and was ready to get right to it once we made it outside.
Rudy absolutely loved playing with the toy. He happily pranced and trotted around showing it off. He briefly played with it independently but the majority of the time wanted to me to engage and join in the play with him. Despite being an older gentleman, he certainly does not let that slow him down. This guy has such a fun and playful spunkiness. While there was no aggression at all around his toys, and he invites you to play with him, he does lack a bit of impulse control and will try to grab at the toy impatiently. Until he learns some boundaries I would not recommend Rudy for a home with young kids. Rudy is also very food motivated and will drop whatever he is doing for a treat. Food is a great motivator for him and will help when building a training foundation with him. He knows how to sit already and shows a desire to learn.
Rudy is very affectionate and people oriented. He loved being close the entire time we spent together and would lean in for pets. Rudy is such a sweet boy and will make such a great addition!
PERSONALITY TRAITS: While Rudy can be very independent he is also very affectionate, lovable and a cuddle bug. He’s a warm hearted guy that likes to have fun and share his toys. What a freaking sweetheart!
Rudy is a gentle easy going guy that would love to live with another dog with his energy. He would do best with respectful children 12+. Rudy knows “sit” and he’s working on “come” and “stay”.

When you first meet him, don’t expect instant cuddles — this guy has places to be and mysteries to solve! The moment he’s out of his kennel it’s 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐, 𝒈𝒐! Nose down, tail up, sniffing every corner like a detective on a mission. “What’s that? And that?” The world is just too interesting to sit still. But bring out the treats and oh boy… you’ve got his whole heart. His eyes light up like he just struck gold. He’ll follow you anywhere, do almost anything, and once you have his attention, he melts into 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. Toys are where Rudy really shows his soft side. Toss him a ball with a rope and suddenly this busy explorer turns into a total cuddle bug. He doesn’t just want to fetch — he wants to share. He’ll place it right in your lap like, “Come on… let’s play together.” Because to Rudy, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. In playgroups he’s enthusiastic and bouncy, sometimes a little too forward, (He can get over stimulated and try to mount his doggie companions) but he listens to corrections from his handlers and is happily hangs out with gentle, easy-going dog friends. Zoe is a true queen! She was found abandoned in a dog park tied to the fence, with a water bowl and half a bag of dog food. She came in with a bright pink collar, her nails trimmed and painted, and she was terrified. Zoe loves people and being outside. She was potty trained upon her arrival to BCAF but has since been experiencing pretty significant mental decline. She is so sweet and just wants to find a
forever home and get some freedom. She has done well on walks with other dogs, is so athletic, and she has the build of a true terrier. She may look skinny, but the sweet girl eats 3 times a day! She just has the metabolism of a grown man!
